Job Title: Youth Minister
Reports to: Pastor
Schedule: 20 hours/week
Job Summary:
Perform a wide variety of activities to direct, and
coordinate a strong faith filled youth group program for grades
7-12.
Essential Functions:
- Guide the youth of St. Ignatius Parish in fun and faith-filled activities.
- Develop activities and programs that will foster spirituality, community socializing, confidence building, community service, parish involvement, leadership, and desire for a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Make a solid connection with the youth of St. Ignatius.
- Evaluate and make recommendations of outside youth programs such as retreats, camps, and other types of programs.
- Availability to attend outside youth retreats, camps etc.
- Maintain a good relationship with parents and volunteers.
- Develop solid fundraising programs.
- Work closely with the coordinator of Youth Faith Formation to keep lines of communication between youth, parents, and adult members of the Parish updated and involved.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Available to attend some extra-curricular school activities
such as sporting events, AMS Youth nights, plays, etc, to build
relationships with the youth.
- Available to counsel (if qualified) or discuss special needs a particular youth may have.
Job Qualifications:
The strong desire to work with youth in grades 7-12 to guide and
develop a deeper Faith in the Catholic church. Must be educated in
Youth Ministry or willing to take courses on Youth Ministry.
Experience in working with grades 7-12 is strongly encouraged.
Willingness to be open to suggestions and guidance from other areas of
Parish. Must be reliable and respectful. |
